CHOOSE TO OBEY GOD Pt 2 (D746)
Acts 5:27 – 29 NKJV
“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man“s blood on us!“ But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men…”
When you decide to serve God, you must know that you are going to face serious oppositions and obstacles.
The devil will not fold his arms and watch you serve God. He will try everything to frustrate your calling. He will use any one available to stop you.
This is so important for you to know because if you do not know this you may fail to see or recognise the opposition that come to rob you of your calling.
People who undermine you as you serve or criticise you or make it so difficult for you to serve may be working for the devil to stop you.
Many people who choose to obey man rather than God often do it in total ignorance. They obey man not realising that their obedience to man may actually be disobedience towards God.
In Galatians 1:16 the Apostle Paul says that when He received the call to preach the good news to the gentiles he did not rush out to consult with any human being.
Why is this?
When God speaks to you about something, whether common or uncommon, don’t consult with flesh and blood for their opinion or approval. Do what God told you to do. Seeking the opinions or approval of others is very dangerous when it comes to your calling because only God knows what He has called you to do and the consummation of that call.
I’m not talking here about about those who think they heard God when they are actually ambitious or envious. I’m talking about when you have clearly heard God and you know that you know that you heard Him. It may be something you do not understand or dangerous to do, but when you heard God, choose to obey Him rather than man.
They will tell you that no one has ever done this before. They will ask you who you think you are. They will call you names and say that you are too ambitious. No matter what they call you, even if they threaten you, when you have heard God, do what He tells you and leave the rest to Him.
Do not allow any man to stop or quench your calling. Don’t let negative words or criticism stop you from fulfilling the will of God for your life.
No matter what you go through, choose to obey God rather than man.
HIS GLORIOUS NAME BE PRAISED FOREVER!!!
PRAYER:
My Father, thank for the wisdom to know that we should obey You rather than man. You said in Your word that if we are willing and obedient we shall eat the good of the land. I choose to obey You rather than man, irrespective of the consequences. In the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me on the Cross. I believe that God raised you from the dead on the 3rd day. Today I receive Your Life. I make you my Lord and my saviour. Fill me with your Spirit to overflow. I thank you that I am born again. Amen!
