CHOOSE TO OBEY GOD (D745)
Acts 5:27 – 29 NKJV
“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man“s blood on us!“ But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men…”
Our theme text talks about the time when persecution broke out against the early church for preaching the gospel. They were arrested and put into prison but at night an angel of the Lord came and release them. The angel said to them “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.“ (Acts 5:20 NKJV)
The early church apostles chose to preach the words of this life, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ when it was very dangerous to do so. They chose to obey God in the midst of persecution.
Today I encourage you to choose to obey God.
What has the Lord been saying to you personally? What is stopping you from obeying God?
You must deal with your fears and doubts and choose to obey God.
When we obey God, we connect to divine purpose. When we disobey God we disconnect from divine purpose.
If the Lord tells you to do something, do it. Don’t delay, don’t procrastinate, don’t be afraid and don’t doubt. If God tells you to do something, there is something great waiting for you on the other side of your obedience. Therefore, choose to obey God no matter the cost.
In our theme text, the high priest asked the apostles saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name?” Peter responded and said, “We ought to obey God rather than men.”
So many people choose to obey men rather than God. As a Believer, choose to obey God rather than men and you will connect to the plan and will of God for your life.
PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD FOREVER!!!
PRAYER:
My Father, thank for the truth I have received today. Thank you for the results of obeying you. Today I choose to obey you rather than men. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

PRAYER FOR SALVATION
Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me on the Cross. I believe that God raised you from the dead on the 3rd day. Today I receive Your Life. I make you my Lord and my saviour. Fill me with your Spirit to overflow. I thank you that I am born again. Amen!
